What is he currently doing?
Works as a Director for “In Transformation Initiative” – a NGO that tells the story of South African peace making process in the 90s and share those with countries in transition/conflict in the hope that these countries can benefit from such experiences (what has worked and what has not worked well).
New Questions around democracy
He says that he has many questions and evey time he comes to the foundation or interact with one person who is in the KF network he come across new questions.
Suggestions for the international Network and connection with the Foundation
“It would be nice that instead of having the annual conference in March, every year in Dayton – at that beautiful facility of theirs (KF) – for me it would be fantastic that every second year we switch it to a different country.“
Informal networks: “Civil society people are always busy and in different places (…) so it would be great to have a network (site/platform) but I’m not an online person, I’m not on twitter, etc. (…) So for me the biggest value is still in informal networks”
Quotes/Insights
Kettering has no idea how many thousands of networks they have created for me. There’s been at least 50 people through my Kettering network, specially in South Africa, whom I’ve visited in the world. And through where we did exchange and developed deep, deep relationships and knowledge and experience exchange over the last now 16 years. Kettering has no clue how they contributed to that.
Suggested that the Multinational Meeting could be hosted in different countries every once in a while.
