New Questions around democracy
How deliberation can improve the quality of human beings? How can deliberation help us become better people?
Quotes/Insights
Even before my fellowship at Kettering I was interested in applying deliberation in different contexts, but after finishing the fellowship I became even more interested in doing this.
For instance, I tried to introduce deliberation during one class that I teach with another colleague. Now, for the course Theories of Democracy (for the second year students) I included 3 classes discussing both the theory of democratic deliberation, as well as case-studies and a simulation of NIF deliberative forum.
In addition, last year I was involved in a very important project together with the municipality of my city – Cluj Napoca. We introduced participatory budgeting as an experiment in one district.
